A supercell that had exhibited a messy but photogenic structure near Noble proceeded east-southeast with a wide wall cloud sporting several tails, as seen here from the southwest. The area was only slowly rotating, thinly wrapped in veils of “atomized” (small-drop) rain, never a serious danger to spawn a tornado, but had to be watched for any sudden tightening regardless. The chase soon ended near Tribbey, thanks to darkness, hilly and thickly forested terrain, and even messier, rainier structure. Still, a supercell intercept wasn’t a bad way to close August in central Oklahoma.
