Wavy Cirrus over Snow-Dusted Vermont Mountains
Here was another example of intending one thing in a photographic composition, only to discover elements heretofore unnoticed, yet enriching to the view. Headed into a cider mill for lunch with a colleague, I glanced across the adjoining land and thought these two antique cars, sadly left out to decay in the elements, taking mental notes on how they would look interesting in slightly later sunshine, with green grass in front and the snow-dusted Green Mountains as backdrop. Coming out, I finally noticed the modern solar panel array amidst spent corn stalks, and (surprisingly last for a meteorologist), a set of transverse waves manifest in cirrus and brushed over by a still-higher, thin cirrus belt. What a deliciously complex and multifaceted scene, textured by forms old and new, summery and wintery, static and fluid!
