Beyond what I dubbed “Lightning Highway“, on a magically electrified and unforgettable Arizona night, yet another core breezed by and blasted sparks across the vertical and horizontal miles. These two, which flashed before the core’s near side and illuminated it nicely, happened to form the two-dimensional shape of a tornado from my perspective, thereby imaginatively combining the forms of two of my favorite photographic subjects. In reality, the two strikes were likely much farther apart at the bottom than they appear, even though their thunder was indistinguishable and long-lasting. In the time of the exposure, a speeding northbound vehicle made it across the entire view.
