Sunset Elements 4

2022-01-06 By Roger Edwards

Sunset Elements 4

[Part 4 of 5]  For this, I ducked inside and ran up a few flights of stairs to get above the trees, for the most part.  Even when overhead colors fade, we can lengthen the sunset experience by focusing on continuing fiery colors and evolving cloud shapes wandering the lowest sky, just above the horizon.  Such little scenes of wonderment are tailor-made for zooming in deep with either lens or eyeballs, and evade the attention of folks who tend to leave shows before encores.  With  fairly clean sky, mostly devoid of haze and dust, very distant cloud forms come into view, truncated by the horizon.  One also can partake of the “green sky” effect, as yellow wavelengths efficiently scattered through intervening air tint the more-distant and filtered blue light.

About

Welcome to SkyPix, an online photo book of clouds, weather and water by Roger Edwards. As in a printed coffee-table book, every image has its own page with a unique story. After all, meaningful photography is much more than just picture-taking; it is visually rendering a moment in place and time from a perspective like none other. As a scientist and an artist, I hope my deep passion for the power and splendor of our skies and waters shines through in these pages. If you are a cloud and weather aficionado, outdoor enthusiast, outdoor or nature photographer, art lover, or anyone who craves learning, enjoy...
