[Part 4 of 5] As our sequence of Lake Mendota sunset views proceeds, the sun appeared to be sandwiched between a stratocumulus cloud base and the distant, hilly, forested ground past the opposite shoreline of the lake. Magenta tinting deepened to a visial maximum, as the sunlight’s distance through both air and embedded haze woud not appreciably lengthen from here on, while the sun stil was visible. The reflection off the lake water only had a few small spots of the sun itself, and was dominated by the intervening sky above the view, with golden to copper tints. [Go to Part 5]
