Northwest Minnesota Tube

2018-11-29 By Roger Edwards

This “cold-core tornado” was the longest-lasting and best-defined of several rapidly evolving funnels and brief/small tornadoes we saw on this day over eastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota, see here from a farm clearing between forested belts.   Fortunately, only damage to trees, sheds and grain bins was reported from this tornado.  Not long afterward, we while cruising up US-75 (known as Central Expressway in Dallas), we saw a road sign: “Canada 90.”  We knew we had traveled a long way from home.  It was two firsts for me: “cold-core” and Minnesota tornado. 3 SSE Fisher MN (17 Jun 10) Looking NNE 47.7566, -96.7815 RADAR

About

Welcome to SkyPix, an online photo book of clouds, weather and water by Roger Edwards. As in a printed coffee-table book, every image has its own page with a unique story. After all, meaningful photography is much more than just picture-taking; it is visually rendering a moment in place and time from a perspective like none other. As a scientist and an artist, I hope my deep passion for the power and splendor of our skies and waters shines through in these pages. If you are a cloud and weather aficionado, outdoor enthusiast, outdoor or nature photographer, art lover, or anyone who craves learning, enjoy...
