This page’s title is what this supercell did for hours, as it churned slowly south-southwestward across the near part of northwestern to west-central Oklahoma. Early in my time here, enough moonlight filtered through to make the anvil edge and flanking line visible, at middle to lower left. This was the third spot of five along the way from early twilight to past midnight, where I stopped and let it move past, shooting a total of hundreds of photos of its profuse electrical output. Never before, and perhaps never again, will I collect so many lightning discharges on “film” (digital files) in one chase. Every one is unique too. There’s no reasonable way I’ll ever get them all on SkyPix, but a dozen or so from each stop, just occasionally uploaded one by one amidst others before and since, should suffice to elicit appreciation for the phenomenal charging power of this storm.
