Florida Keys Reflections

2016-04-03 By Roger Edwards

Florida Keys Reflections No wonder folks go to the Keys to relax.  How can one assume any other state of being, faced with scenes like this, fractal reflections of high clouds and sunset light off tranquil waters?  The pelican seemed to agree, as he briefly departed his perch a little while later, then flew right back so as to miss no more of the experience.  The sky and water looked wondrous, inspiring, like a grand fluid painting, from zenith past horizon.  My privilege and responsibility simply was to capture a part of it for posterity.  There are many reasons why I love the Keys and try to get down there as much as possible, and times like this top the list. 2 WSW Marathon FL (5 Dec 8) Looking WSW 24.706, -81.1129

About

Welcome to SkyPix, an online photo book of clouds, weather and water by Roger Edwards. As in a printed coffee-table book, every image has its own page with a unique story. After all, meaningful photography is much more than just picture-taking; it is visually rendering a moment in place and time from a perspective like none other. As a scientist and an artist, I hope my deep passion for the power and splendor of our skies and waters shines through in these pages. If you are a cloud and weather aficionado, outdoor enthusiast, outdoor or nature photographer, art lover, or anyone who craves learning, enjoy...
