[Part 4 of 4] Once the ridiculously complicated mesocyclone/tornado system west of Vigo Park invariably got deeply wrapped in heavy rain and hail, it was time to get out of the way before that dense precip created dangerous driving conditions. A long line of traffic (chasers) with the same idea formed on the east road, moving slowly enough as to nearly prevent escape. Fortunately I got ahead of the rear-flank gust front just far enough to pull out of the conga line for a stop sign, hopping out at this fascinating scene of abandonment and mystery for a short shoot. Where once stood a country school or church, there only remained a brick entryway, now leading anyone who strolled through the archways straight into the maw of a nasty HP supercell. [Back to part 1]
