Well on its way to such status, the supercell that became the “Roswell Mothership” already showed marvelous structure here. A midlevel “Ring of Saturn” formation had become attached to the updraft as a skirt of sorts, sandwiched like components of a burger by a large and organizing updraft base below, and a thick anvil with deep knuckles of inverted convection above. Indeed, it made a juicy lunch sandwich on the smorgasbord of atmospheric violence.
