On a fine and cool fall morning, it was a treat to round the corner of Battlestar Norman and see this splendid field of altocumulus translucidus undulatus covering a substantial proportion of the northern and eastern sky. This came nearly a month after a wonderful sunset display of silhouetted undulatus clouds as seen from these grounds, and brought to mind a different but equally beautiful altocumulus display from a little over four years earlier, also here, also while leaving an overnight shift. Head’s up! Something fantastic might be happening in the ordinary wild blue, right overhead.
